Gamaksan Without a Car Reservation: An Autumn Trip to Geochang

Geochang’s Gamaksan flower festival is still an option if you did not reserve a hilltop parking space. The organizer provides a shuttle route for unreserved visitors during the September 18–October 11, 2026 event.

Save the Korean address before leaving

This is Gamaksan in Geochang, Gyeongsangnam-do, not Paju near Seoul. For the shuttle parking area, save 경남 거창군 남상면 승강기단지길 94. The flower-field address is different.

A rental car without a reservation does not provide direct access to the festival grounds. If you are travelling by intercity transport, plan your local transfer to the shuttle point and your return connection separately.

Standard paying passengersRound-trip shuttle total
TwoKRW 6,000
FourKRW 12,000

These totals use the listed KRW 3,000 fare per passenger. Food, travel to Geochang and other local transport are extra. Check any age-related fare directly.

Return timing matters more than a packed itinerary

The organizer currently displays 16:30 as the final uphill departure and 18:30 downhill. Another official tourism article lists later holiday times, so use the earlier times when planning and ask staff to confirm the day’s service. The organizer’s number is +82-55-940-8226 / 8227; English assistance has not been verified.

The shuttle also excludes pet dogs. Take a light jacket, water and comfortable shoes, and leave room for waiting rather than scheduling a tight onward journey.

Our separate English guide includes the address table, reservation-versus-shuttle explanation, timing discrepancy and practical visitor checklist.
