ABOUT

About Korean Heritage Stories

Korean Heritage Stories is an independent cultural blog created to help international readers discover the history, architecture, traditions, art, and everyday stories behind Korea’s cultural heritage.

The site explores subjects such as Korean royal palaces, traditional buildings, historic places, cultural symbols, royal customs, folk traditions, museums, and UNESCO World Heritage sites. The goal is to make complex cultural topics easier to understand without removing the historical context that gives them meaning.

Who Runs This Site?

Korean Heritage Stories is created and managed by Kim Dohyun, an independent Creator and Editor with an interest in Korean history, architecture, traditional culture, and heritage storytelling.

Articles may be based on personal observations, visits to cultural sites, books, museum materials, academic resources, news reports, and information published by official heritage organizations. Sources are reviewed whenever possible, and historical claims may be updated when better information becomes available.

Our Purpose

The purpose of this site is to present Korean cultural heritage in clear and approachable English. It is designed for travelers, students, teachers, researchers, cultural enthusiasts, and anyone who wants to understand the meaning behind Korea’s historic places and traditions.

Korean Heritage Stories aims to follow these editorial principles:

  • Explain Korean heritage in accessible English.
  • Use reliable sources and distinguish facts from interpretation.
  • Respect cultural objects, historic sites, communities, and traditions.
  • Correct significant errors when they are identified.
  • Clearly disclose advertising, sponsorships, or affiliate relationships.

Editorial Independence

Korean Heritage Stories is an independent publication. Unless a page clearly states otherwise, the site is not operated by, officially affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the Korea Heritage Service, the Korean government, UNESCO, a royal palace, a museum, a tourism organization, or any other public institution.

References to organizations, destinations, cultural properties, products, or services are provided for educational and informational purposes. Their names and trademarks belong to their respective owners.
